Kardex and symmedia is a success track record that reaches back to 2016. After an intense evaluation phase, we sealed the deal end of 2017 and started a pilot project immediately in early 2018. At LogiMAT 2018 “Kardex Connect” was presented to customers and industry experts not as a concept but as a live solution. The clear goal in the realms of “Service Process Digitalization” and “Machine Connectivity” was to increase machine uptime. The feedback was very positive, and the scaling of the solution started right away.

Over the two years of agile development and multiple updates and releases, the solution was enhanced to encompass the whole digital service portfolio based on one platform:

Kardex Connect integrates Remote/ Video Conferencing with cutting edge security, Service Process Support with live remote assistance, machine monitoring with standard alarming & machine data interfaces and real-time analytics of warehouse effectiveness. The very heart of Kardex Connect is powered by symmedia SP/1 solution framework. Together we built on the SP/1 technology base to add value to the entire service chain.

In parallel to the fast forward integration Kardex managed to expand customer satisfaction via a good orchestrated sales roll-out. Kardex already reached 700+ machines at customer sites and is still growing their connectivity rates rapidly.

With Symmedia SP1, more than 400 service requests were triggered in the last 6 months, 287 alarms were genertaed, more than 60 technicians were connected to customer installations for 400 hours.
