In 2019, symmedia will be represented at EMO with its own stand in the Industry 4.0 Arena. At the fair, symmedia will present its latest product: the Factory Portal. Visitors can experience live how a connection of heterogeneous machine parks for digitizing and recording machine data functions via a uniform system (independent of control types or protocols). Use cases for machine networking, trouble shooting, alarming or predictive maintenance will be shown.
symmedia and umati
Of course the machine tool interface umati plays a special role. Since 2019 symmedia has been an official umati partner. The visitors of the EMO will be able to experience live how umati works in practice at the symmedia booth. umati offers a uniform data model that simplifies and accelerates the machine connection. It is considered the new standard in the machine tool industry. At the booth, the central consolidation of umati data with other machine data is shown in the symmedia Factory Portal.
Digitization of the entire machine park
Irrespective of the size of the machine park, manufacturing companies want as far as possible only one platform on which they can access all machine types and variants. With the symmedia Factory Portal, the entire machine park is digitized with just one All-In-One networking solution. The certified, secure infrastructure enables machine operators to optimize machine performance themselves, establish their own digital service processes and achieve consistently high product quality. This works independently of the machine, the MES or ERP systems. symmedia configures the appropriate solutions and helps the machine operators to use them profitably.
Modular structure - depending on requirements
The Factory Portal comprises two product components: Remote Access and Data Collector. Remote Access guarantees a simple and secure connection to the machine. It offers a complete remote access infrastructure, which was developed especially for the high security requirements. Connections to the machine controller are established securely via the Intranet or Internet, standardizing multi-level service processes.
With the Data Collector, machine data is collected and securely made available for internal and external applications. This enables machines to be monitored independent of time and location. In the case of deviating data, for example, proactive actions can be carried out for maintenance and service cases.
The machine operator alone is in control of the machine data and decides what to do with the data and who has access to it. In addition, the machine data can be made available specifically for cloud and other third-party applications, for example to implement predictive maintenance concepts. Since the security of data is particularly important to manufacturing companies, the symmedia Factory Portal is regularly tested and certified by TÜViT. In addition, it can be flexibly integrated into existing software and hardware environments.
