From 13. – 17. April 2015 the Volkswagen Plant Manufacturing Wolfsburg presented its symmedia SP/1 Remote Service Solution at the Hannover Fair. With an informative movie, it was outlined how a machine operator could easily request support by clicking the Service Request button and solve the problem in a minimum of time.
Volkswagen uses the symmedia Service Portal to optimize its own maintenance and to receive fast expert help with major problems. First, the maintenance crew on-site can use symmedia SP/1 to enter the machines and plants and equipment to solve problems remotely. If this is not possible, the RSCC is available for the remote solution of problems. Can an incident still not be solved, the supplier is invited to the remote session to connect to the machine and to solve the problem. The data sovereignty is always with the respective Volkswagen production site. The technician can only enter the machine via a secure connection, if a Service Request had been sent before.
